LISTS

These lists provide the names of the individual soldiers by regiment who left Vancouver on 1941 October 27th and were on the casualty lists provided by the Department of National Defence on 1941 December 26th as members who were at Hong Kong. The total number is 1977 soldiers including Gander, the mascot for the Royal Rifles of Canada. The list provides the names, rank, regimental number, unit, company, platoon and where they were from. The right-hand column provides access to pictures of the individual soldiers currently available.  The company, platoon and place where they were from is based on the information I have at this time:

  • Brigade Headquarters
  • The Winnipeg Grenadiers
  • The Royal Rifles of Canada

There are four pages dealing with soldier casualty information related to 'C' Force:

  • Battle Deaths
  • Battle Casualty Numbers
  • Prisoner of War Deaths
  • Prisoner of War Casualty Numbers

OTHER LISTS

  • Geographic Names: "C" Force members who have geographic features in Manitoba and Saskatchewan named after them.
  • Decorations: Decorations and awards given to "C"' Force personnel. References are included.
  • District Distribution: Table showing the number of soldiers by regiment and region in Canada.
  • Hellships: Tables provide information on the hellships, first camps and the individuals that went to Japan
  • Regimental Cap Badges: This page shows the cap badges for the "C" Force Brigade Regiments.

'C' FORCE PHOTO ALBUMS

I have been trying to develop photo albums of all the 'C' Force soldiers. There are separate albums for The Royal Rifles of Canada, The Winnipeg Grenadiers and Brigade Headquarters. The albums show a picture for each soldier as he or she looked like during World War II. Pages from the album are now incorporated in the soldier lists. If you have any pictures of the soldiers that are not in the album, would you please forward a jpg of them to Vince.
